The NordicTrack Pathfinder elliptical trainer is the latest version of NordickTrack's extremely popular and highly rated AutoStrider 990. NordicTrack has kept their basic design the same, but this model includes some impressive upgraded features. The latest fitness technology is the iFit Live, and so far it seems like a very cool add-on. iFit Live is an additional feature you can choose that tracks your weight loss or fitness goals over the internet and lets you download new workout routines into your elliptical. If you and your friends set up a profile on the iFit website, you can compete against each other on Facebook for distance races and other targets. iFit Live works with Google maps as well, so you can plan and track 'race' routes. More and more elliptical machines will be iFit Live compatible in the future, and NordicTrack is one of the first to include this option.
The Pathfinder lets you mix up the intensity of your workouts by power-adjusting the incline and vary the stride length. The over-sized foot pedals are very comfortable, and cushioned to absorb impact.
One of the most convenient features is its SpaceSaver design. You can fold up the Pathfinder to both save space in your home, and also move it from place to place depending on where you want to work out.
Value for Money
You can find the Pathfinder for under $900, making this a budget model. But the features are definitely not budget features! The warranty may also vary, depending on where you buy it. Generally, NordicTrack offers between 1-3 years on parts and a year on labor which is pretty good for this price range. If you can, purchase extended coverage.

The NordicTrack Pathfinder elliptical trainer is a budget model, but it does not perform like a budget machine. That said, it is not the same as a gym model and is best used for regular home use. If you have multiple users who want to work out for several hours a day, this is not the machine for you. But if you want a steady, comfortable and versatile workout at home, the PathFinder will give you as much of a challenge as you like. It's well-made, and with the addition of the iFit Live gives you an added challenge and dimension to your workouts and a targeted plan of action for your fitness goals.
