One thing needs to be made clear from the outset. Another manufacturer, Icon, builds Reebok ellipticals for the company. Icon builds exercise equipment for a number of other fitness equipment companies, as well. The range of Reebok products come in the low to mid price range. This is a very popular and competitive section of the market. If you are after a machine that you are going to use for general fitness, then a Reebok could be just what you are after. If you want a machine that will help you attain a serious level of fitness, then you will probably want to step up a level.
At the budget end of the Reebok range is the 545 model. This machine has magnetic resistance which allows for a quieter workout. It has 8 programs in the onboard computer, which will allow for some variation in the workouts that you perform. It also comes with a handgrip pulse monitor and 1 year warranty.
The next model in the range is the 645. This machine incorporates Coolaire, which is featured on some high-end cross trainers. This is a cooling fan that is incorporated right into the console panel. So you get a cooling breeze exactly where you want it. There is also the option to change the resistance at the push of a button. For a harder workout there is an incline facility.
At the high end of the Reebok ellipticals is the model 1500, which is a much more impressive machine. It has a strap on heart rate monitor, which is more accurate than the handgrip type. This monitor is able to change the intensity of the workout depending on your heart rate. It also has a longer stride length (20 against 18 inches) which makes it a more versatile elliptical.
