Sole E35 Elliptical Trainer Review

Sole fitness has a solid reputation for quality fitness equipment. They first made a name for themselves with their treadmills, but their line of ellipticals has earned stellar reviews - so much so that Hilton hotels use Sole ellipticals exclusively for in-room exercise machines. This review will focus on the Sole E35 elliptical trainer model.

Sole E35 Overview

The Sole E35 elliptical trainer has been rated by several consumer publications as either the best or one of the best in it's price range. You get great performance and quality, and a better warranty than brands that sell for double (or more) than Sole machines! The construction is solid, and the motion is steady. All in all, this is a great all-around elliptical machine.

Features of the Sole E35

Dual wheels, 200 lbs in weight and 81" long, this is one steady, stable machine. Although you'll need more space for this elliptical, it's well worth losing a bit of real estate for a sturdy, safe workout.

Unlike the E25, this model has power incline adjustment so you can change your incline mid-workout. Like all of their machines, the foot pedals are articulating and adjustable, so they reduce the chance of foot and ankle strain. The 20" stride length is very comfortable and fluid.

The LCD display is not mind-blowing to look at, but you do get wireless heart rate control -- a nice feature. You also get a built-in fan and speakers, though again they are not high-powered quality.

7 programs and 1 user-defined program give you a nice variety of workouts, and 16 resistance levels let you set your own intensity. You can adjust the incline and resistance right from the handlebars, which is very convenient.

Sole E35 Value

The Sole E35 is a mid-range elliptical trainer, even though it is only about $300-$500 more than it's lowest priced model (the E25). You get a lot more for that extra $300-$500, including a 5-year warranty for parts and a 2-year warranty for labor.

Bottom Line

Overall, this is a great buy. You can get a variety of workouts, so both lower and higher intensity exercisers can get what they want with one elliptical. The best thing about the Sole E35 Elliptical trainer, however, is what you get for the price. For a mid-range elliptical, you get build quality that is comparable to (and in some cases, better than) higher-priced machines, and a warranty that backs it up. If you were considering the E25, you may want to check out the E35 first... it is well worth the little bit of extra money you'll spend.
